Suggest Joss make movie about penquins next. Safer for my sanity.

*pet pet*

Is is just 'cause of the movie and everyone flipping out, or did something else happen?

Oh cause of the disappointing box office returns, some guy at CHUD insulting browncoats, Joss responding to said criticism etc etc.

I saw Joss' response, and that guy at CHUD can kiss my natural, beige ass. Hold on, let me flip up the tail of my brown coat so he can get a good seal on that liplock...

Disappointing?!?! #2 in the fricking country with almost 1000 fewer screens than the #1 movie? Almost exactly what Universal predicted for opening night? The fact that word of mouth is so good that many people what never saw the show are going back for a second (third/fourth etc) viewing and telling their friends?

Pfft.

Heh.

And I want there to be many more after this one. Many more!

I think word-of-mouth will be very good for the film, however.

Also, huh...

I really like this CHUD writer and I thought he wrote a well written review and a well written response to Joss and Co. I really do. I loved the movie a heck of a lot more than him, but his speculations about why the movie didn't have a stronger opening are, in my opinion, valid ones. To each his and her own, I guess.

His response to Joss was especially well-voiced, I thought. I think he's a little bit hasty to say that it's over and done with at this juncture, though. It hasn't even opened overseas yet. And, also, Kevin Smith movies weren't ever all that successful at the box office(granted, they cost a lot less to make, I'd assume), and he cranked out Jay and Silent Bob flicks for years. Not the same thing, I know, but, it's just jumping the gun a bit quick.

Though I do think they could have marketed this movie better. You know, in places OTHER than the internet. Because no matter how vocal people are on the internet, I figure they still are a vast, vast minority of the people who actualy GO to the movies.
