Fandom, shamdom
Jun. 25th, 2006 11:45 pmIf anyone has been attention, I like to occassionally post about the nuttiness of other fandoms like Veronica Mars and Harry Potter. Cause they make the Whedonverse fandom look postively sane (yes I know that's hard to believe).
Anyhow the Doctor Who fandom has now grabbed my attention. Thanks to the last couple of episodes that aired in the UK, there's been a huge kerfuffle. I found this blog entry in my travels. The writer talks about how on one forum "one poster even threatened to punch the child actor who was in this week's episode. He made this threat just because he didn't like the story." Reminded me of the threats against Steve DeKnight and Marti Noxon.
At the end of the day, it's only a bloody tv show. People who get too worked and starting threatening things should get over themselves. You don't own the show.
