Having been fed up with the state of British tv, The Times has a go at the rest of Europe. France, Belgium, Sweden, Germany. No one gets spared. The Greek news though sounds like something that should be done here.

The European TV to avoid.

Oh man, they really took the worst of Belgian telly. It's one of those programs for which I'm glad not having cable, so I might accidently catch a glimpse of it.
It's also one of those programs my students used to refer to as "way TMI on the people involved".

Volksmusik programmes are indeed terrible. It hasn't got anything to do with actual folk music (except for the occasional yodel maybe). Sadly they're not only a staple of Saturday evenings on ZDF, but also crop up on weekdays on other channels. Playback, audiences trying to clap along but failing, lots of hairpieces and faker than fake set decorations. Nevermind, the blue rinse brigade love them.

It certainly deserves to be mocked.
