So with the 2008 US presidential election looming ever closer, here's a question. Who do you think will be the Democrat and Republican party presidential nominees and who would you like to see as the nominees?

Think it'll be:

Clinton/McCain

Would like it to be:

Gore/Giuliani

Think it will be
Edwards / McCain
I'm afraid the popularity of Hilary is being overestimated at the moment. Gore and Kerry are out since they already lost once.

Would like it to be
Gore or Clinton/Giuliani
I'm torn, I would like to see a woman as president, but I like Al Gore better.

Anyhow, I'm reasonably sure there is no way in hell Democrats are going to win if there are no major changes in the world between now and 2008.
The Red - Blue states ratio has not changed. Stupid old fashioned American voter system.

I honestly don't think even the Democrats like Hilary lately. Like iphi said, her popularity is quite overestimated.

Yes! Damn old fashioned voter system! Why can't we have a fascist society, like Cordelia suggested?

;P

Clinton doesn't have a chance in hell. I also don't think she'll do a good job.

That being said, I think it will be

Kerry/McCain

or

Gore/McCain

Who do I WANT?

Biden/Guliani

Who do I want but who doesn't have a chance in hell of winning?

Obama

Gore and Kerry aren't out just cause they lost. Look at Reagan.

Gore/Giuliani?

That's crossing party lines, as Giuliani is a Republican and Gore is a Democrat, last I checked. That'd be an ultimate coup for Gore, and it would certainly rock a lot of boats, but I don't think it will happen.

And, I'll restate my insistance that I'd rather live on the moon than in a country led by Hilary Clinton.

True, Nixon managed that as well I think. But I don't know if anyone else has pulled that off. I'm not saying it's impossible it's just not likely.

He's talking who the presidential front-runners would be for each party. Democrat/Republican

I like Obama as well but he doesn't seem to actually want to run.

He's smart enough to know that he's still not vested in the system enough. He needs experience. Needs at least one term as a senator to have any practical knowledge.

Can we get through the 2006 elections first?

Geez.

Wouldn't it be very ironic if it ended up being Feingold/McCain?

Dur. =)

In that case, I'd be interested in that for sure.
