I was pondering over the news that there's going to be a sequel to ""It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" . Is this the longest period of time that it's taken for a movie to get a sequel? The first one was made 44 years ago.

Gone With The Wind, 1939.
Scarlett, the tv mini-series, 1994.

Wizard of Oz, 1939.
Return to Oz (disney animated), 1985

Bambi, 1942.
Bambi 2, 2006.

fyi: There was also over 15 years between Chinatown and My Two Jakes, and over 20 years between Psycho and Psycho 2.
