My own fandom peeves
Mar. 31st, 2007 10:19 am1) Those who describe themselves as 'true fans'. Pure zealotry and oddly enough pure nuttiness.
2) Those who say they 'hate' writers, episodes, actors etc. Life is too short. Get over yourself. You're talking about hating aspects of a tv show. It's a bit sad really.
3) Shippers who put down other shippers. My ship is better than your ship yadda yadda yadda. Oh who cares.
4) Those who see fandom as a zero sum cake. "But no, the writers can't do this as the other lot will benefit and my lot will lose". Jesus, will you look at yourself? The whole thing is a bit like Northern Irish politics, only not as funny.
5) People who dress up as their favourite character. I've never got that. Slightly disturbing (though harmless). Still nowhere as weird as Renaissance fairs.
