Well the show went through a number of changes (which I'm guessing was a result of network interference) so I'm guessing Greenwalt walked as a result.

He's doing a thing at Comic Con. There's high hopes he will have something major to announce.

Because Buffy #1-4 of Season 8 were kind of crap. I really don't think Joss and Co give enough credit to how well their actors inhabited those characters. Season 8 just feels kind of lifeless, its characters hollow.
