I am really not liking this new LJ feature for hyperlinks. It's extremely annoying. Is there any way to disable it?

Yeah, but only on your journal I think. That was mentioned in the lastest LJ News. I'd look it up in the FAQ.

I hate snap, and how many sites have added it to their coding.

Note that there are two separate things to do. One is to disable snap from showing you popups ever ever ever. (On that one computer, with that one browser, until you delete your cookies.) And the other is to disable "graphic previews" (ie snap) from your journal so that people who haven't changed that setting still won't be subjected to them on your journal.
