Did the official Buffy calendar one year feature the Buffy/Spike AR scene from 'Seeing Red'? Cause that would be one of the stupidest things ever.

Yes, it did. It was last year's calendar. It caused a serious uproar and much hate mail to the publisher.

I bet it did. You do have to wonder about 20th Century Fox.

Funny, I never bought last years calendar - glad I didn't waste the money. Think I'll go for the Dr Horrible one instead.

I love how discussion of this error turned into a ship war - as if the merchandise people hated Spike/Buffy. You know, whoever put the calendar together probably just didn't watch the show.

I agree with that. I think whomever was picking the photos just thought it was a romantic Spike/Buffy moment and didn't understand the context. I was surprised at the anti-Spuffy assumption myself.

I agree

I've gotten that calendar every year, and there's no sense of context or narrative. More like "put all the stock promo pictures with Alyson Hannigan in them on the August page."

I mean, I get the outrage - the image shouldn't have been on the calendar. But it's not a Buffy/Spike issue, it's an issue of taste.
