The fandom decides
May. 11th, 2010 07:12 pmDear lurkers,
One of the advantages of having a wide following (for a fan site) on Twitter is that when you ask burning questions of the day, you'll be guaranteed a wide pool of answers. It's the nearest thing to a fandom referendum you will get in this day and age.
Anyhow today's burning question "Is Buffy a feminist show?"

Are they operating under the popular misunderstanding of the word that many people feel carries a negative connotation (e.g. SMG said she felt the word feminist had a negative connotation but was honored to be told by someone she was portraying a feminist character)?
Perhaps it's better to have two treatises present the pro-feminist and con-feminist points then call for a vote, Chancellor of the Whedonverse. Let the debate be heard on the floor so that all may make an informed decision. ;-)
