There's some really interesting answers to the "At what age should children be allowed to watch Buffy?" question I tweeted at the Whedonesque account. 12 seems to be the consensus. Some go as far as saying 3 or 4 or even from birth.

We watched it as a family from the start - on the BBC, so January '99. My younger daughter was not quite 8 at that point and watched the first couple of seasons from my lap, where she could hide from the monsters. The Beeb censored it, of course, but there was nothing in it unsuitable for her or her 11 year old sister. Of course, they were much older by the time S6 came along!

I watched Buffy from the start on BBC 2 as well, good times.

I began watching Btvs because of my kids. But to be fair, they were teenagers-my daughter is the exact same age as Buffy the character.
