Be interesting to see the charges against Saddam. He has the blood of 300,000 Iraqis on his hands. I would not be sad to see him put to death despite my objection to the death penalty. He's too dangerous to be given a life sentence and would still be a martyr figure to his followers.



Cheers and sobbing from Iraqi journalists when film of Saddam being examined by a US doctor shown at the press conference, very emotional for me as I watch it live right now.

Tis an historic day.

I just hope no one thinks this is the going to be the end to violence in Iraq. I particularly hope Bush doesn't use this as an excuse to cut and run, ie: "Well, the evil dictator is caught, so y'all can sort this out now."

It's great that we've caught Hussein. Now maybe they can focus on finding Bin Laden, if anyone in the Bush administration remembers who that is...
