I'm not going to editorialise here, I'm just going to let the damning facts speak for themselves.

Letters and emails from US servicemen in Iraq to Michael Moore

An extract from his new book.

Bremer criticizes troop levels in Iraq.

The former US administrator tells MSNBC about planning failures which led to a 'atmosphere of lawlessness' in Iraq.

Rumsfeld: Iraq/al-Qaida remarks 'misunderstood'

A reversal on the US government position that there were connections between Iraq and al-Qaida.

No doubt some of them feel that way...

but I have difficulty taking something as fact when Michael Moore says it. I'd need to have the letters in my hand and hear from the soldiers myself before I would believe that man. If he says the sky is blue, I'm gonna be inclined to look up simply because I think he's a pompous liar who makes things up more than CBS ever could just to make people buy into his agenda. Granted, there are people on both sides of the aisle who do that... which is why I can't stand Limbaugh either. It isn't because Moore hates a president that I respect; it's because I hate him and everything he represents. I do not think for a second that he has even a shred of integrity.

I still hold that we did the right thing taking down Saddam. Things since then are mildly questionable, but during the debate last Thursday I agreed with Bush on one controversial statement. It isn't the president's job to be "popular" with other nations of the world. It isn't even (really) his job to be popular among his own people. It IS his job to do what's right for America. I believe he did, many believe he didn't. But I simply love that he doesn't seem to care what anyone else thinks. Yes, I know... Stupid Americans thinking they can do what they please... but we do have our own WMDs... and everyone seems to need what we're selling... so we can pretty much do that. It's one of the privileges of being a superpower.

There. Now I've hung myself out for public flogging. Sorry, Simon. I think you're a cool guy... the cat's PJs... but we're polar opposites politically. I hope that, even if you find my beliefs offensive, you can still call me a friend.

Hope Heidi and I get to visit with you and the Mrs. sometime when you're in the states. I promise not to talk politics! :)

I've actually always wanted very much to see Ireland. It's been on the top of my international travel list for some time. Perhaps the future will open up that opportunity.
