No doubt some of them feel that way...
Date: 2004-10-05 08:38 am (UTC)I still hold that we did the right thing taking down Saddam. Things since then are mildly questionable, but during the debate last Thursday I agreed with Bush on one controversial statement. It isn't the president's job to be "popular" with other nations of the world. It isn't even (really) his job to be popular among his own people. It IS his job to do what's right for America. I believe he did, many believe he didn't. But I simply love that he doesn't seem to care what anyone else thinks. Yes, I know... Stupid Americans thinking they can do what they please... but we do have our own WMDs... and everyone seems to need what we're selling... so we can pretty much do that. It's one of the privileges of being a superpower.
There. Now I've hung myself out for public flogging. Sorry, Simon. I think you're a cool guy... the cat's PJs... but we're polar opposites politically. I hope that, even if you find my beliefs offensive, you can still call me a friend.

Hope Heidi and I get to visit with you and the Mrs. sometime when you're in the states. I promise not to talk politics! :)
