Gary Hart? When I lived in the States for a year back in '83, I remember him campaigning for the Democratic Nomination.

Tell you one thing, if he seriously thinks he can run for Presidency, then the Democrats are screwed.

You know...

I'm beginning to think that poll that showed any Democratic candidate beating Bush in an election is going to really hurt the party, as everyone comes out of the woodwork, trying to be the one to fight.

The primary's going to be dangerous for the Democrats, because I think it's going to be bloody and divisive. On the other hand, hopefully it'll mean Bush'll have no ammunition by the time they come out of the primary, and it'll turn to the advantage of the candidate. But I'm beginning to think not...

I wouldn't mind a Howard Dean/John Edwards ticket in 2004, truth be told.

and this time again I probably will but the likely Democrat candidates strike me as nothing special. And the ones who I would love to see run i.e. Gore and Hilary Clinton have a lot of baggage that the Republicans could use against them.

What did happen to McCain and his Campaign Reform Bill?

It wasn't in the interest of Congress to pass reforms on their bread and butter. I believe, like, very limited (re: wimpy) reforms were passed to placate the American public, and as we always do, we were happy that they did something, even if they really did nothing appreciable.

I don't want to see Hilary or Al running--both wussed out on Iraq until it became okay to be against war. I see that as hypocrisy.
