Thought for the day
Aug. 12th, 2007 09:50 pmAfter reading comments on various blogs/sites about Ron Paul in the Iowa Straw Poll, I've come to the conclusion that his online campaign is the nearest thing to my fandom that I ever seen. I haven't seen that much passion, vigour and sheer bat shit craziness in years.
Saying that the Republicans are a really sorry shower at the moment and it does look from a foreign perspective that Hilary will be a shoe-in for '08. Which would not be a bad thing.

Date: 2007-08-13 12:45 am (UTC)By contrast, Romney is charismatic and has even fewer qualms than most politicians about blatantly changing his positions depending on who he is appealing to. (My favorite is how he has a lifetime membership in the NRA that is less than a year old - didn't he know he was running two years ago?) Rudy could run as a Democrat in about 30 states (and frankly, would have a half-decent shot at winning the Democratic nomination if he bolted parties today), so Republicans are going to HAVE to back Mitt unless the landscape changes dramatically in the next three months or so. Maybe Obama would have a shot at beating Mitt, but I don't think Hillary does.
