Sorry, what's pretentious about it? It seems pretty simple and basic to me. It didn't me excited either, but it didn't turn me off to the show.

Heroes has always been pretentious. It's what turned me off from it in the beginning. They need someone to write better Moresh voice-overs, seriously.

Oh well. I don't expect more from this show than a fun romp in superhero land, so I'm never dissapointed. And sometimes, like with Company Man, I'm pleasantly surprised. I do think it's overrated though.

It was a bit lame. I wouldn't say "pretentious"....perhaps sappy.

What this show needs is more humor. Everyone is too damn serious except Hiro who has a great time being a super hero. I wish others could lighten up a bit (at least when they aren't targets for murder). I'm hoping the writing is better for season 2.

I quite like the images. They look like moving comic book promo posters. The VO needs to go though, and better music would help.

I really liked that one better than the first. The music was stirring and made me feel a bit excited to see what's going to happen.
