An animal interest story
Oct. 15th, 2007 07:25 pmSo on Sunday afternoon my mum phones me to say their cat Sissi hasn't been seen since the night before. Now she's less than a year old and loves to roam. Wandered into the local Marks and Spencers once which is pretty cool for a cat you must admit. Anyhow, Mum and Dad are obviously a bit distraught as they adore her to bits. So I speak to my mum today and still no sign of her and Dad is really missing her.
However, Dad phones about an hour ago to say that someone phoned to say they have her (luckily their phone number is on her collar). Now Sissi wasn't found on the same street as my parents or even in the same town where they live. No she's in another town which is 18 miles away. How she got there I have no idea but she's now back with my parents. And is incredibly zoned out. Bless. I do like a happy ending. Nice when it happens. 18 miles away. Unbelievable.

Date: 2007-10-15 06:52 pm (UTC)We had a cat that would go missing for 10 to 14 days and then suddenly turn up. It would drive my Mama nuts. She hasn't had a cat since that one didn't turn up anymore. Simply because we like cats that can roam, but we all get so distressed when they go missing.
Glad everything turned out okay. I bet she's getting extra cuddles and the best foods when I'm typing this.

Great story with a wonderful happy ending!

Remember, these are the people whose last cat was named after Oskar Schindler.

Date: 2007-10-16 04:15 am (UTC)One time my cat snuck up into the attic. We of course had no idea that he did that until weeks later. We were putting something up there, and there he was. He couldn't meow for some reason, so he was just trapped up there. It was very sad. But yay! We got him back :)

Date: 2007-10-16 08:07 am (UTC)My sister-in-law in northern BC (Canada) sent me an article in the local paper a few years ago about a cat who had disappeared in October, but turned up in April, safe, sound and healthy. When it happened again the next year, the owners found out that their neighbours down the street thought the cat was a stray and had been taking it to Arizona for the winter!!
Wow.
