A new dawn

Yay to a new Joss show! As it means brand new wank! Cause no one does angst, hate, drama, flounces, flame wars better than fans of Joss' shows. Also spanking new ludricious shipping wars will be on the cards. And some fans of Joss' previous shows will no doubt be feeling BETRAYED as Joss will no longer be seen to be flogging a dead horse in trying to bring Buffy, Angel or Firefly back on television.

Truly this is a great day for all of us.

New material from Joss is nothing but a good thing - I just wish he'd gone for new actors as well. I only tolerated Faith at the best of times.

Did you ever watch Tru Calling? Cuz I agree with tolerating Faith, but Eliza was very different in that show. Not Faithlike at all, and I really enjoyed her in it.

I did see a few episodes. It didn't hold my interest but that had nothing to do with Eliza. It's not that I hate her or anything - I just don't find her particularly interesting as an actor.

I don't feel betrayed, just, well to be honest, not a lot really.

The premise sounds a bit 'ho hum' to me, but we'll see what he can do with it.

It's on FOX, so I don't have a lot of faith in it lasting. The premise doesn't jump out and say "watch me" to me.

And if their missions had to be done in bikinis?

Not only that, but Tim Minnear is on the project. The last five shows he's produced have all been killed off by Fox in less than a season (see IMDB page). At this point, I'm wondering whether Rupert Murdock has some sort of death grudge against the man, strong enough to make it worth hiring him just to break his spirits by canceling the show. Dollhouse will probably be fun for four weeks in the Friday Death Slot in February 2009.

When did this happen? What's the show about? Does everyone know except me?

Heee. It's funny 'cause it's true.

Actually, already saw a flame war, over Who Needs To Be Cast In This Project. Someone dared speak the name of Veronica Mars.

I'm saving up the money for the direct-to-DVD release.

Only for several episodes this season. She might almost be done.

I, for one, am glad Joss has a new 'verse to work in. Much as I love BtVS and Angel, I'm quite happy with the way they both ended and the comics we have/will have. If we don't get any more Firefly/Serenity, I'm okay with that, but no more Joss on TV is not good, so this news made me a happy camper.
