My favourie new things
Jan. 10th, 2008 10:07 pmBest new show
Moving Wallpaper/Echo Beach. Probably the cleverest mainstream combo on British tv oh in ages. Plus tv jokes about writers! What's there not to love? I did feel exceedingly weird seeing Jason Donovan play a dad. Well when I say weird, I meant screaming at the television "OH GOD JASON DONOVAN'S A DAD!".
Best new comics
The Infinite Horizon. A modern day Odyssey with a group of US soldiers trying to get home from the Middle East a few years in the future. Marvellous writing, I can't wait for the second issue.
Pax Romana - Just lovely. It makes a pleasant change to read intelligent comic books.
Best new Christian end of the world horror book.
God's End The Fall by Michael McBride. Far far far better than those poorly written Left Behind books. Imagine a Christian version of The Stand, it's really good and totally not what I expected.
Best new video game
Silent Hill Origins. In which we return to old school Silent Hill. Very reminiscent of the second game. And all the better for it.
