If they made voting mandatory in the US, I wouldn't have to see that god awful video full of smug celebs earnestly trying to get people to vote.

Making it Manditory? Naw.

Now giving some incentive, that i could see. The incentive SHOULD be that you're serving your country, taking part in the political process, etc., but realistically, people "want" something more if it involves work.

I say give them a day off of work, but then have to show at work that you did indeed vote, otherwise they doc you vacation time.

Or maybe they should hold elections on Saturday? I dunno, it's crazy - but it seems to work for us Aussies! Compulsory voting works, too.
