Baby slipped out of mum's arms last night and fell face front onto the floor. Went to hospital in state of high anxiety. After a wee wait and one x-ray and a CAT scan the doctor said "Good news he doesn't have fractured ribs, bad news he has a fractured skull". Wanted to throw up on the spot but managed to hold it together. Fortunately it's a very minor fracture and he's behaving normally i.e. pooing, demanding to be fed and being cranky and yelly. Pretty much a shipper really. Anyhow he's was in overnight last night and is staying overnight tonight. And is going to have a full x-ray tomorrow. And hopefully then will be back home.

The whole thing was as scary as anything, I swear to God.

Babies skulls are quite squishy so really if you're going to drop a child it's the best time to do so!

I felt sick just reading that, so I can only imagine how you and Robin felt.

I triplio the first comment. That is scary stuff! I am glad that he is doing okay and I hope he comes home soon. Slippery little things aren't they?

My sister dropped her 3 year old last week and he broke his wrist, shes been wrecked with guilt. Good thing the wee ones tend to bounce. I agree, I can't fathom the horribleness of the situation, I'm glad to hear the little one is relatively ok. I feel for you, your wife AND your mum, she must be feeling terrible. It can be scary and tough. Hope hes well and in your arms soon!

It was me who dropped him. The baby's mum. Not Simon's mum.

Ah. I gasped as I read this and can only imagine how terrifying the whole thing is. I wish baby a speedy recovery.

If it's any consolation, I believe I was dropped on my head as a child. But then again, I guess I sometimes/pseudo qualify as a shipper. So perhaps that's less consolation than you'd like. ;)

Oh no! I am glad that it sounds like after some extra worry and fright and care that everything should be okay. <3
