Dead watchers, the earth in peril, Giles hiding the truth (again), timey wimey, Spike!, teh sex, Faith getting her powers back, Andrew and Warren bickering (and no one likes a smug Amy).

Really? You didn't think it came across like some classic trek episode? Where folks are turned into gods complete with suitable attire.

As you know, I thought it all felt so very, very silly to me.

I liked that Star Trek episode, it was fun. As for the ending, it just screamed "Angel is still insane but Buffy has finally realised somethings is up". Took her awhile, I will grant you that.

I was personally very surprised and pleased with how Jeanty drew Spike. It was a very well-done rendering, and while it didn't completely erase the eye-gouging sex that felt like it would never end, I was still impressed.

Spike fans had a lot to be happy about in this issue, and I actually think I may write SA a letter letting him know that. We're used to getting only crumbs, so we take what we can get, but still. Eye-gouging sex. My roommate and I actually decided not to continue our season 2 re-watch when it became evident that we'd be watching "Surprise"/"Innocence" right before bed, and we didn't want bad dreams or Post-traumatic flashbacks to the comics.

I think it's the weakest of Brad's arc thus far but I still enjoyed it. I just wish the exposition fest we got from Giles made more sense. I appreciate having mystery but I think this is less intriguing and more confusing. I'll reserve final judgment until next issue though.
