It's not widely remembered in the fandom that Joss and Mutant Enemy were on board for a second Buffy movie back in 1998. I'm guessing it would have been set between seasons much like the first X-Files movie was. You've got to wonder what elements from seasons 4, 5 etc would have been brought in. Would Bangel have been enshrined as a iconic Hollywood couple? Would Spike have been the movie's villain? It's a fascinating what-if for the fandom. I'd love to see Joss actually address this as he's not one for talking about projects that never took off.

Joss was just a fountain of ideas back then, wasn't he? Though I rather suspect some of the shows
Variety
says he was developing were spoofs. I love
Grampire
and
Cheap Shots
as names - and the latter would have the potential for a great show.
