Is the LJ Buffy fandom in crisis?

Not my corner. I have friends who have been very sad about the comics, and some who have got angry about stuff, but there's still a wealth of fic and meta and, more important, comradeliness. Who can knock a fandom that produced all the hilarious penguin stuff?

But I'm definitely a glass half full person about my fandom.

I think the lack of posting atm is due to a combination of the holiday season and a fandom case of the "I don't give a damn"'s brought on by the comics.

I could try a rallying speech... *clears throat*

The Powers are sending us a wake-up call, people.

Sure, we've been—I don't want to say demolished—beaten.

And sure, it's slightly ... demoralizing.

But from here on out, we're on the offensive!

We're gonna find out this thing's weaknesses!

We're gonna go in prepared, and we're gonna fight smart!

It's time to take down Season 8!

Ahem ..

sorry for the random Angel quoting.

*la la la*

It doesn't really seem like a crisis to me.

Yes, it is.
The show ended so long ago, and the comics managed to disappoint almost everyone. (because Spike, because Spuffy, because Angel, because Bangel, because Willow, etc.)
Plus the fact many people refute to see the comics as canon helped the crisis too.

Joss Whedon hardly commenting on the comics doesn't help too, so yeah, I think the fandom is in crisis.
