Salad cream: a creamy, yellow condiment based on an emulsion of about 25-50 percent of oil in water, emulsified by egg yolk and acidified by spirit vinegar, and with other ingredients which may include sugar, mustard, salt, thickener, spices, flavouring and colouring.
Mayo: a stable emulsion of oil, egg yolk and either vinegar or lemon juice[2], with many options for embellishment with other herbs and spices.
Is this like a trick question where you explain how all the food in (American) Mexican restaurants is actually incredibly different even though it's all just tortillas, meat and cheese?
If I was a millionaire philanthropist , yes indeed. Sadly I'm not :(.

Salad cream started out as the poor man's mayo. It is distantly related, but flows more and has a more mustardy flavour. Personally, I'll stick with proper mayonnaise, merci.
'Americans may eat Swedes'? Hmmm, I had better warn the two people from Sweden that I know, they have a close American friend and may not be aware this his friendship is a prelude to possible cannibalism...
Or is it cannibalism when it is an American doing it? Aren't they a whole different, alien species? :)

No, but really I've never noticed it around where I live. I'd have an easier time finding an Asian market.
