Eh Being Human
Jan. 23rd, 2011 10:16 pmIt was just ok, the trouble with the show is that it promises a lot and doesn't deliver half the time. And the previous series suffered from a lack of scenes of Annie, Mitchell and George being in the same room.
There were a few high points from tonight's episode though.
Paul Kaye as Poor Man's Spike. Mitchell finally realising what a git he is and Nina becoming more and more interesting as a character. And the appearance of Robson Green who was fantastic in Touching Evil (the original version).

Date: 2011-01-24 11:28 pm (UTC)Understated comedy seems to be where it excels at the moment. It achieved that wonderfully in my opinion with the scene with the estate agent where she mentions 'it is rumoured to be haunted' and all three of them look around, sniff a bit and go 'Nah'. And of course the later irony that the place now *is* haunted.
The centre of this first episode was obviously always going to be Annie and Mitchell and his fight to get her back. The plot of him facing his past kills was predictable but was carried off smoothly so I forgive that. The trouble is that this seemed to leave George out in the cold a little - though obviously that little werewolf plot is looking like it is going to bloom soon...
Was surprised at Paul Kaye being killed off so quickly. Was expecting him to smoulder for a few more episodes at least before being killed off... I do wonder if the whole vamp run werewolf fight club is going to appear again or not (I hope so...). Robson Green was fantastic and I hope they make more of him in this series...
