Oh Melanie Phillips, gay people aren't taking over Britain. And to compare them to McCarthyites is just plain daft, insulting and shows a woeful lack of understanding of history. If you want to go back to the Britain of the 1950s where homosexuality was illegal and gay people lived in misery then build yourself a time machine and clear off.

Not just illegal... it was a hanging offense at one point... Though I am not aware of anyone ever actually being executed for it...

And nothing good ever comes from the Daily Mail, other than bigotted opinions that the majority can titter at and (recently) the news about the Red Dwarf revival... and I am holding fire over giving them credit for that until I have seen this new series and it has been declared as 'good as series 4' at least...
