Sarah Michelle Gellar really is the nearest thing to royalty in the fandom. I don't think any other actor, writer or even fan comes remotely close.

She has some of that remoteness we expect in royals, too. Joss and JM are probably in the pantheon, but they seem much more approachable.

I think because Joss and James make themselves so available to fans, that kinda diminishes slightly in terms of star/royality appeal. I'd actually rate Boreanaz over them.

In that same vein of thought, I would say that Jane Espenson has what accounts to a cult following of her own. But yes, Sarah is the fandom royal.

Yeah, I think so. Some people read her respect as coldness, but I appreciate her professionalism and reserve. Also, I respect the hell out of her work with CARE.
