It occurred to me this morning that I wrote a 'Yes Prime Minister' fanfic for a GCSE English essay back in 1989 when I was 15. What's the earliest age you started writing fanfics at?
I have never, ever written fan fic... everything I have ever wrote has been 100% original creations. Not very unique creations and often very derivative but nontheless my own creations... I am still waiting for that publisher to get back to me on my seminal magnum opus (written at age 12) 'The day the school got taken over by aliens'. I suspect the bastard stole it and filmed it as 'The Faculty' 15 years later (and did a better job of it than I did, I have to say... though I feel something was lost in the transition from a 1980s British secondary school to a mid 90's American High school). :)
Seriously, I have never got on with fan fic in any form. Unless the owner of the copyright says to me 'write me a story about these characters' I leave well alone... However, at the age of 26, I did write a NPC role in a one off sci fi LRP game which was amply played by a good friend of mine. The character was a velvet coated alien scientist who travelled in a blue box and had an uncanny knack of turning up in critical situations, being blamed for them, getting arrested, escaping from prison and running around being chased by guard until he had resolved the plot...
