Back in 1983 when I lived in America for a year, I was in 4th grade at a school in South Bend, Indiana. A lovely lady called Mrs Duvall taught me and really made an effort to look after me and helped me to integrate in a class of American school kids.

Anyway, my mum phoned just there now to tell me that she got news from friends that Mrs Duvall passed away recently. She must have been in her 70s. So here's you to you Mrs Duvall, you were a part of my childhood and a great teacher, thanks for helping me.

losing people that had an influence on you is tough. I'd imagine a lot of the teachers that taught me have passed on. It's sad to think about that.
