Bye bye Tony?

So Tony Blair might be leaving office sometime this week. May happen, might not happen. Who knows? And frankly do you care? Well you should. Cause his replacement will cause a shift in the Anglo-American relationship.

Och aye the errr old

Scotland was discovered to be the cradle of land life on earth the other day as a fossil of a millipede was discovered to 428 million years old. Which is mind boggling if you think about it.

They seek them there, they seek them anywhere

Colin Powell says there may not be any WMDs in Iraq. The former head of the US weapons inspection believes there aren't any either. You really do have wonder about the credibility of the UK and the US intelligence services and how much pressure they came under from politicians to mislead and at worse falisfy evidence about the likliehood of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Pish of the highest order

Lets face it the only highlights of the Golden Globe awards which I had the misfortune to watch last night were Ricky Gervais and Bill Murray's acceptance speeches. The rest was just mind numbing back slapping drivel. Especially that bird from Sex and the City.

And in other news

It's snowing at work :).

well its not snowing here

Question about the Tony Blair thing...

I read the article, but will admit to being a little confused, as well as ignorant concerning England's politics. The article doesn't directly say that TB is thinking of calling it quits, or being ousted. Is this more like a huge political decision-making vote that could make or break TB, or am I missing something?

Yes, it's make or break time for him

If he loses the vote and the Hutton inquiry says he was implicated in the death of Hutton then he will have no choice but to step down. It's the biggest crisis he has faced since he took power in 1997.

I think he will survive but his government will lose a lot of credibility in the Hutton inquiry report.

My mind is suitably boggled.
