It's a code. I heard about this.

These guys used a dictionary (I forget which one) to create their code. First they wrote their message then looked up each word in their dictionary and replaced them all with the preceeding entry. This way they didn't have to publish a seperate code book, they just let the people in their club know which dictionary to pick up.

This works because not all dictionaries are complete and may in fact have additional or missing words.

Also, I am full of shit.
