Official Angel cast pics for season 5 should be out soon but seeing as The WB are going into a wankathon over Smallville and Tarzan it'll be very close to the wire.

Meanwhile a real issue actually dares enter my journal.

Is anyone here a line manager or has been a line manager in the past? I'm having problems with one of my staff who refuses to speak and embarrassed the heck out of me yesterday by refusing to acknowledge me at a meeting that I was leading. I repeatedly said his name but all he did was stare at a piece of paper. Later on, others tried to speak to him but he ignored them as well *sighs*. We're very flexible in my office but that was just taking the biscuit. He's not a team player but he will be rehired.

Maybe try and talk to him solo and find out what the problem is? Remind him that the whole team needs to work together and your willing to discuss whatever the problem may be and try and iron it out

Or..be british - dont deal with the issue, find a way to work around this guy so it doesnt matter if he speaks to you

and that sound you hear is hell freezing over...:P. Try to talk to the person on his own. If he is still difficult, perhaps speak to your line manager about him? When in doubt, refer up!

I might try to get as private an office as you can to talk with him.

It's possible that he has a social phobia and would be more likely to talk outside of a group.

Even if he is just being a jerk, sending him a private email or letter inviting him to a one-on-one will still probably be more productive than having him feel like the whole office is watching.
